The Waterview, Monroe, CT Wedding Photography - Heather & Andrew

So I'm a little late on blogging this wedding, but, it's been a busy few months.  Heather & Andrew got married the weekend following Hurricane Sandy.  With all the damage and power outages I was worried that things might not run quite as planned.  Luckily, the venue was able to get power restored a few days before the wedding, and the majority of the guests were able to attend the wedding.  With all the chaos that took place that week, it was a breath of fresh air to see everyone in high spirits and celebrating with Heather & Andrew.  And celebrate they did!

I would also like to issue a special thanks to my good friend Leo Druker, who drove up from Washington DC to fill in for Zack and 2nd shoot this wedding.  Zack was unable to make it due to problems with the hurricane (don't worry, he's fine)

Enjoy

Snowpocalypse!!!!

It's not often that I post just one photo on my blog.  Or post one this quickly.  But I think the immediacy of the recent snow storm, and the epic nature of the photo lend itself to that.

I have had this shot in my head for a while now, but every one of my couples just seem to have amazing weather on the wedding day.  Well, last week, my friend Brad Ross called me and asked me to 2nd shoot with him at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange.  It turned out this wedding coincided with the worst snow storm NJ has seen in 2 years.  I immediately got excited.  And we made this happen.  Thanks Brad.

Best of 2012 - Weddings

Well, folks, that time has come.  2012 is over, the apocalypse never came, so we find ourselves in the beginning of 2013.   It is this time where I will look back upon my favorite wedding images of 2012.  It has been one hell of a year.  I cannot even begin to put into words how amazing this year has been for me.  I will really just let the photos do the talking. Before we get into it, I have some people I need to thank.  First off, my wife, Meg, for her constant support and patience.  Also, a big thank you to Zack Delaune & Garret Torres, who make a up a big part of the Dennis Pike Photography Team.  A HUGE thank you to Leo Druker who stepped in for Zack when he was unavailable after Hurricane Sandy. Also, a lot of thanks go out to Brian and Charlie of the Bleu Studio who ask me to 2nd shoot from time to time.

And also, I would be remiss if I did not thank every single person that found themselves on the business end of my camera and made all this possible.

enjoy.

OK 2013, you have some big shoes to fill.

Brooklyn Engagement Photographer - Megan & Colin

I was supposed to meet Megan and Colin in Brooklyn on a Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn, the weather did not cooperate.  It was cold, it rained, the sky was a very non-dramatic steal gray.  So we re-scheduled for the following day, it was still cold, windy  the sky was still gray, but a little more dramatic, and there was no rain. Of course, I think the following weekend was sunny, warm and generally beautiful.  Megan & Colin toughed it out and we walked around Brooklyn for a few hours and made some awesome photos.

I'm really looking forward to their wedding in May, mostly because I know with Megan and Colin, it's going to be a blast, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited to shoot in downtown Philadelphia.  Enjoy.

And Happy Holidays to everyone!

Mohonk Mountain House Wedding, New Paltz, NY - Kaleigh & Mark

Where to start with Kaleigh & Mark's wedding?  The whole thing took place at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY.  In my preparation for their wedding, I, of course, looked up their venue online.  The first picture I saw of it put my jaw on the floor.  I also immediately got REALLY excited.  The photos online hardly did it justice.  The Mohonk Mountain House is one of the most amazing locations I have ever been to, let alone been fortunate enough to photograph.  The only problem I had, was that Kaleigh & Mark didn't give me a week straight to shoot there, which I could have EASILY done.

The venue aside, Mark & Kaleigh's wedding exceeded all expectations I had for it as well.  They are incredibly warm, wonderful people and surrounded themselves with a small group f their closest friends and family.  I don't think there was a single person there without a giant grin all day. I get to say this a lot, and am very lucky to do so.  It's people and weddings like this that make me love what I do.  Enjoy.
