SFNJ opening day

In Midland Park, NJ, there's this thing on Saturdays in the summer called SFNJ. stands for Solid Foundation New Jersey, basically there is a skatepark set up in a parking lot for about 6 hours. The park, even though it is temporary, and movable, is better than a lot of permanent ones, because this one was actually built by skaters. So, when I'm not off shooting a wedding (Saturdays during the summer tend to be kind of busy for that kind of thing) I head over there and skate and shoot photos. Yesterday the park opened for the season, I was there. Everyone was younger than me, hard to come to terms with being the "old guy" but it was a good time, here are some of the highlight photos

Photo walk

The other day I was bored... what to do when you're bored? Grab your camera, your ipod, take a walk and shoot some photos. No agenda, no expectations, just walk around and shoot. See what may spark the creative juices, see what's out there. Next time, photo drive.

Before and After

So often you hear about photoshop and the possibilities therein. I love photoshop, it has indeed revolutionized the way photography and graphic design is done. Who knew that as a photographer you would spend so much time sitting in front of a computer. A big part of being a professional photographer is getting good at photoshop. Some people go over the top some people go minimalist. I tend to favor minimalist. I don't want a computer program to define what and how I do things as a photographer. I thought it might be fun to showcase exactly what I do in photoshop. Now I'm not going to show everything step by step. Not even close. I am however going to show you a photo that is SOOC (straight out of camera, photog jargon) and then the finished product side by side. Well actually top to bottom. Enjoy.
